Out of Con-TEXT: Cancer Edition

A few months ago I started doing a silly Instagram series called "Out of Con-TEXT" in which I share some of the ridiculous conversations I have with my friends (get this) without context. This time, we all know the context is "Brenna has cancer." And somehow with that as the only common thread (pun intended) tying all of these texts together, I think a Cancer Edition of this series paints a lovely picture of the types of people that are my closest friends.
Until now, very few people knew about my diagnosis. But man, did those people come through with not only thoughtful check-in texts and non-cancer-related conversation subjects to distract me — two things I have leaned on heavily this past month — but they also continue to come through with cancer jokes. As cathartic as it is for me to try and turn this experience into something funny on my own, I adore having other people participating in the effort with me.
